Founded in 2005 by Jake Spinowitz, then a 15 year old teenager with a profound hearing loss, Lend An Ear Long Island has become a collection site for used hearing aids throughout Long Island, New York. With the help and support of his brothers, over time Jake developed Lend an Ear Long Island. Aware of the high cost of equipment and lack of coverage for the hearing impaired community, Jake and his brothers are committed to give the gift of hearing to all in need.

At Lend An Ear Long Island, old or unused hearing aids are collected from various professionals, such as audiologists and physicians, and solicited from hospitals, ENT offices, and hearing-aid distributors. These hearing aids are then sent to various organizations who in return refurbish them and distribute them amongst those in the hearing impaired community who cannot otherwise afford to purchase the costly hearing devices.
Donations of used hearing aids are greatly appreciated and accepted no matter what the condition. If you're generous enough to give them, we're glad to make sure that they'll be put to good use.
